Lily was an owner surrender to the Tri-County Animal Shelter because her family "didn't have time for her." In foster care, she has proven to be a really nice dog. She knows a few commands and walks pretty well on a leash... but will go after squirrels. She gets along fine with the resident dog, but isn't trusted around the resident cat. According to her shelter record, she'd been in a home with a 14 year old terrier and a cat, but hadn't really been in contact with the cat. Lily has already been spayed, and is microchipped (which can be transferred to her new care-givers). She enjoys stuffy toys and a good chew bone. She hasn't quite gotten the concept of "fetch" but seems to be a smart girl, and eager to learn. She isn't fond of being alone, but will settle down in a kennel during the day if the house is empty.
She could go to a home with another dog, but needs active humans who will take her out on walks, runs and/or hikes a couple times a week. She needs the company of humans for most of the day, an though she'd like to get in the bed with humans, is content to sleep on a blanket on the bedroom floor.
